American Red Cross CPR/AED Recertification Course

The American Red Cross (ARC) CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers Recertification Course is the course guards need annually in NYS. This course takes individuals through an abbreviated course to review material and introduce new course material.


Typical course details: While each course may vary, most of our courses follow the following details.

  • Each course is classroom only, there are no blended learning options
  • In person training is scheduled for 4 hours

General schedule: Most courses are taught in one day for 4 hours. This lets participants update their certification and get back to work the next day.

  • Performing a primary assessment and treating breathing emergencies, treating cardiac emergencies, CPR/AED and written exam.
  • **Please note that is a general outline, sessions will be adapted based on course schedule

To participate and pass the course: Participants must meet a variety of criteria to participate and pass the course successfully.

  • Must be able to attend scheduled class time
  • ARC CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers certification must be current or within 30 days of expiration
  • Pass 1 written exams with 80% or better
