Blue Ocean Aquatics is currently seeking dedicated and vigilant lifeguards to join our team for the upcoming summer season. This per diem position is an excellent opportunity for certified lifeguards who are looking for flexible work hours and the chance to ensure the safety of swimmers at private parties and events. Dates: Early May- Labor Day
Schedule: Per diem
Experience: At least 1 year of teaching swimming lessons to children from six months to adult in both a group and private setting
Pay: $20-30/hr, depending upon experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor swimming areas at private parties and events to prevent accidents, ensure swimmer safety, and respond promptly to any emergencies.
- Provide first aid and CPR as needed, and be prepared to initiate emergency action plans in case of water-related accidents.
- Inform party attendees about swimming safety rules and regulations and enforce these rules to maintain a safe environment.
- Conduct regular checks of the swimming area to ensure that water conditions, weather, and the environment are safe for swimming activities.
- Collaborate with party hosts and Blue Ocean Aquatics team members to coordinate safety measures and emergency response strategies.
- Set up and dismantle lifeguarding equipment provided by Blue Ocean Aquatics at each event, ensuring that all gear is accounted for and maintained in good condition.
Requirements:
- Current Lifeguarding certification with up-to-date CPR/AED.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in lifeguarding, demonstrating a track record of reliability, vigilance, and effective emergency response.
- Ability to work independently with high levels of responsibility and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact positively with party guests and enforce safety regulations diplomatically.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform rescues, administer first aid, and monitor the safety of all swimmers during events.
- Reliable transportation to travel to various event locations as scheduled.
