Swim Instructor- LuHi Summer Camps

Blue Ocean Aquatics is looking for a Swim Instructor to join our team. Swim Instructors will work directly under the supervision of the Aquatics and Assistant Aquatics Director. Swim Instructors at LuHi Summer Programs will be under the direct employment of Blue Ocean Aquatics.

Location: LuHi Summer Programs, Glen Head NY

Dates: July 1, 2024- August 23, 2024 (No camp on July 4th & July 5th)

Schedule: Monday-Friday from 9:00-3:30pm

Experience: At least 1 year of teaching swimming lessons to children ages 4-12 year old in both a group and private setting

Pay: $17-$20/hr depending upon experience

Requirements/Essential Job Role:

• 16+ years of age.
• Must hold a valid certification in one of the following: Lifeguarding/CPR/AED/First Aid or Water Safety Instructor. Preference will be given to those who are certified WSI and also hold a Nassau County Lifeguard certification.
• Must attend preseason orientation.
• Implement and teach swimming lessons to groups of children ranging from 4-12 years old.
• Ability to teach in a large group setting.
• Enforce rules and regulations.
• Conduct buddy checks.
• Maintain a clean environment.
• Must be reliable, responsible, and ready to work on a daily basis.
• Available for at least seven out of eight weeks of the summer.
• Must be able to work in a team setting with the rest of the Aquatics staff, as well as the LuHi camp staff.
